i will be buying a camera of my own soon so i can take some more pics of this setup when im done

its pretty odd but it does not slip when wet like metal drive friction drives :)

Just when you think you have seen every possible way to motorize a bike. Man.
The simplicity is amazing. Can you take another shot of that from the right side? Rubber to rubber yea. No slippage especially with also the tires having some give with the air pressures.
BRAVO.

Good idea. I like simplicity myself. What do you think about making this into a powered trailer? Make a long tongue that attaches to the seatpost. Get the weight off the bike & attach it only when you need an engine. Have you seen any powered trailer videos?

If you built something like that using one of those Evo scooters, you would have a two speed friction drive.

Poor GSR40....
But you put it good use!
I love GSR40 gopeds, I have 2...

I wondered about the "wet" metal slipping spindle issue,
I wondered if one tried to all a reinforced rubber hose over a spindle
if it would eliminate the wet slipping as well.

Probably not, I think its more about surface area than material. The knurled metal scrubber has a lot less material in contact with the wheel than the goped wheel in that pic.
