Burn.
I am required to wear pure cotton surgical scrubs and nothing else in the hyperbaric tube, plus my body is physically grounded to the frame of the tube to avoid any chance of a static spark. The tube is pressurized with pure oxygen to 2.5 atmospheres, and I stay in there for 2 hours daily. Anything hand held that might generate a static spark is to be avoided in such conditions.
I have a large, open wound on my right heel that has been making little to no progress toward healing, and the hyperbaric therapy is intended to promote that healing by elevating blood and tissue oxygen levels. It does seem to be helping, but not quickly.
Diabetes sucks.
