I would not put anything into the cylinder at all. To remove the engine sprocket nut, use an impact , either air or hand driven. Or..Place a socket and breaker arm on it and then smack it with a resin mallet. They are normally not super tight and one smack will losen it. Thanks...

I'm painting my engine now....not flat black though. I'll give you the run down as soon as it's done.

I cleaned the whole engine with spray carb cleaner first.
