Q: whats the difference between Bristol Palin and a Bristol Blenheim?

A: One gets shot down, the other gets knocked up...

Please no flames... it just amazes me that someone can come up with such stupid names for their kids.. but this woman has done it par extrordinaire..

40-70s english slang - bristol(s) refered rather crudely to a womans bust...

then we have the other two girls (remember this woman is a republican/right winger) named Willow and Piper....

So that would be named for Willow Rosenberg and Piper 'empathy, whats that' Halliwell..

One of whom is a lesbian wiccan with a case of bipolar disorder that almost destroys the world - not to mention a recovering addict. The other is one of a triumvirate of witches who has a kill ratio higher than the Red Baron and is about as lovable and likeable as fred west with a flamethrower.

I wonder how a woman who most probably has full boxed sets of Buffy and Charmed is going to go down with the bible belt? .... its gonna make Lynne 'how on earth didnt you know shes a lesbian' Cheney look like a sunday stroll in golden gate park

Why is it people who don't even live here want to elect our next president? Just the mere fact that Europeans love Obama, as well as groups like Hamas should automatically flush his candidacy down the toilet.

Why is Palin the target? Remember folks, she is not a presidential candidate - but IMO she compares favorably to Obama and blows the doors off of Biden, the guy who is her peer. Here are a few things that impress me about Palin:

1: As governor, she sued the federal government to remove Polar bears from the endangered species list because the polar bear population is not in peril, and putting them on the list was a subversive way to prevent harvesting of Alaska's natural resources. I totally agree.

2: She sold the Alaska governor's plane. Some point out that she didn't make a profit on the plane, but who the heck makes a profit on selling used vehicles. She saved tons of money in maintenance costs and staffing to keep the bird in the air. Bravo - this is the kind of fiscal responsibility I want to see in our govt.

I can go on, but I am obviously in the minority here at MBc where a good number of you think that you are more sophisticated than most, and "investing" in govt programs is the answer to everything.

Someone with an open mind poking fun at names people give their kids and their religion? Wow.

Leave it be and focus on your own country. Please no flames? What???

Mind your %^&*(&^ing business and instead of using your rhetoric to bash our country, why don't you do something to improve your country? Libs are supposed to be tolerant but I have never seen so much intolerance and hatred coming from folks of you ilk.

I've visited England and found it depressing. The people in your country lack hope because they have no opportunity and are taxed to death to provide a socialist society that is hardly utopian.

Please keep your ideology and sexuality to yourself. What you do in private is none of our business. You don't see straight people advertising their sexuality, do you?

jemma do not let them bother you. Conservatives are known for their lack of humor (just look at Dennis Miller).

Conservatives have more funny bones than libs, they just don't poke fun at people for their kids names or the religion they choose.

I have a bad feeling about this thread. I like a good debate, but I dont think there's
anything to this but an argument brewing.
  8. Here's my take on the elections. fiscalconservatives.jpg

With the Fanny Freddy bail out and the stock market crashing overall we are experiencing a nationwide Mortgage Meltdown this tells me the Republican thinking although is what I truly wish we can be you know reap what you sow nothing wrong with that has proven not to work because Most Americans make HORRIBLE FINANCIAL CHOICES and this trickles down on EVERYONE so I'm voting DEMOCRAT this year because WE NEED HELP.
Seriously I don't care about "popularity" and all these negative ads quite frankly is turning me way off but I do care that we are continually borrowing from COMMUNIST CHINA GO WAL MART NON UNION LOW WAGES!!
Where do you think the 200 BILLION dollars it took to bail out these mortgage giants came from?

    Country First.

    Vote Democrat.

I don't care if Mickey mouse is running.

    If he's Democrat I'm sold.

    So there's my political rant.

Sorry cause I broke the rules, man!
  9. Yes. Sorry but I had to let that out.

Political threads can get quite nasty.

    I'm a pessimist - you know what a pessimist is? A pessimist is a well informed optimist! <drum rimshot>

Lack of humor - hrumphhh! Stop trying to kiss up to Jemma. (what kind of name is that anyway? :p )

He ain't Mickey, but he's got bigger ears! <drum rimshot> I kill me!

I don't vote along party lines, I vote for whomever I feel is best.

As far as the Fannie and Freddi go, Obama is the guy who had Jim Johnson (former FNMA CEO) as one of his advisor's. This problem has its roots with the libs, not the conservatives.

When I was a mod, I was under the impression that politics are way off base and not tolerated. And here we have mods, not locking the thread, but contributing to it. My, have times changed.

See LargeFilip - we can all get along because we all have a sense of humor. We don't see everything the same, but you're still a great guy and this forum does have some great folks. Even if we do get into little political arguments every so often. It's what makes the world go around.

Zevo -I thought the "White Zone" was a "free for all" area, no?
  17. Sure. Democrats and Republicans alike are responsible for what's happening, but Bush has the final say.
And believe me I don't like either candidate. But come November by then my trike will be done I'm gonna ride up to the election office with my Obama gear and go on the voting line. Yes. I don't NEED the promise of cheaper gas. I truly believe that's not gonna happen regardless that we are drilling here. Yes. I actually LOVE WILDLIFE and want to save the symbol of this country the BALD EAGLE from extinction and see it out in the wild instead of at a zoo. Yes I believe in UNIONS and employees having a SAY instead of keeping quiet and fearing for the lost of your job day in and day out.
I believe that people that work in WAL MART shouldn't be stuck with low wages. And I believe the 85% of the products you buy there coming from China a lot of that can be made right here.
I believe if you give the "don't know how to save but know how to spend" Americans more money they will BOOST our economy because they are buying goofy hats with long ears and maybe when business owners see that they can make a profit here maybe they will not take their company to a third world nation.
All that and I'm mostly Republican in my thinking.
But having Palin one step away from the presidency with only a 70 plus man in her way that can't type or lift his arms battled cancer FOUR TIMES already frightens me. I mean I actually have nightmares about it lol.
  18. And Zevo you are absolutely right. We made a note of it not to get political here. So I'm sorry. This year has become important to a lot of us so with that I couldn't help it.

    Dennis who?

Let me see, Democrats are solidly in charge of the purse strings, spending is out of control and we need to vote Democrat to get us out of this mess! That is humor!! Not that the Republicrats are any better. But we need to choose who may actually spend less.

While I am a fiscal conservative, I have some moderate (some may even say "liberal" social views *ack!*) I think you are giving Bush too much credit for gas prices, and the current financial market troubles. All in all, he's "only" the President and the two other branches of government are liberal. I am not a democrat or republican, I am undeclared and have no political party affiliation. I am not concerned with McCain's age, his mother is 90+, so I think he's got some time. I worry more about Obama's leftist leanings, leftist affiliations and the fact that leftists LOVE the guy. Think about that for a second. The McCain/Palin ticket is a very moderate ticket. My dad says that back in the 60's, McCain would be a Democrat - but since the democrats have moved far left, the republicans have moved toward the center to fill that vacuum. While I don't agree with everything McCain/Palin say they stand for, I can check off a lot more "agree" boxes than with the Obama/Biden ticket. I don't let one or two issues get in the way of who I want in office. You'll never find a candidate who thinks exactly like you do. For me, I do not want anything from the government. I already work hard and buy health care and put away for my own retirement. I don't want or expect an entitlement program to give it to me. I have a 17 year old TV set, not a big flat panel set. My newest car is 7 years old, the oldest is 14 years old. I sacrifice driving shiny new cars because I put my families health care and financial future ahead of those things. With the cost of living being high in NJ, I am considered "rich" by the federal tax code (which does not adjust taxes according to region), yet I am merely "average" by NJ standards. If Obama lets the "Bush tax cuts for the rich" expire, it will cost me thousands. His "investments" in "green jobs" and other carp will cost us more. He says he'll tax evil business for the revenue, but what do you think is going to happen to the costs of the goods they make? The cost will be passed on to us, the consumer!

Anyway - I think we can all agree that someone from the UK should NOT be ridiculing ANY of our presidential or vice presidential candidates. Many europeans have always disliked America, even when Clinton was president. (yet they are envious of our lifestyle...) There is no "world reputation" to restore. Obama would never be elected leader of any european country, so why should we let them tell us who WE should elect?
