Part left over???

Hello, I'm installing a belt tensioner on the manual clutch and I have a square like washer that's 1"x1" and it's 1/4" thick with a screw in the middle.
Could someone tell me what's it for ?.....thanks, Ed

It should be installed in the top of the belt cover to stop the belt from hitting the cover.

The reason I had to ask is because I received no instructions with the clutch tensioner and I never would have thought it went there inside the cover..................Ed
