The pedal start/freewheel sprocket gives you back your pedal bike. Now you can safely and comfortably ride your bike down moderate hills at 30+ mph under pedal power alone.
This feature is particularly handy if you are a commuter. Sometimes you go pedal. Sometimes you go motor-assist. Sometimes you go part pedal, part motor-assist.
