Performance?

I'm replacing my gaskets for my cylinder (top and bottom),I'm also. Replacing the rings as I have it opened up. That said will new rings help my compression? Any Seniors comments or suggestions as Iv never for one down.

it depends if the ring end gap of the new ones are very much smaller than with the ones you are replacing.
put them in the cylinder (.5" down from top of cylinder) and use a feeler gauge to measure the gaps.

depends...will you be taking the time to hone the cylinder bore?

otherwise, dont bother.

It all has to do with what sort of shape your cylinder is in!
