Hello! Me and my brother have been having a blast with these engine kits! So much fun to putt around town and the bike trails. Anyway, Ive bought a few chinese Ebay bicycle engine kits now and every single one had abysmal build quality. Im sure everyone knows what im talking about. Recently came across an ad for a Pexmor 100cc for 115 shipped. It looks identical to the ebay ones ive been getting. Are the pexmors better quality? Are they even any different than the chinese ebay ones? I have no problems cleaning the ports up but the ebay ones have been terrible. In fact ive been refunded on the past 2 i got due to quality control issues. (throttle cable unraveled, causing throttle to stick and tanks and sprockets being damaged on arrival)

Just a few of many reasons why I never buy anything from ebay when it comes to the motors I use.

I do pay a higher dollar for my motors but I also don't need to do very much at all to my motors to make them a viable powerful motor...I dislike having problems with motors quite intensely...lol.

haha please share on a few of the steps you do to make them powerful, although im sure its all over the forums but its a lot to take in for new guys! I am mechanically inclined though

As I said, not much just a little clean up on my V-2 and nothing at all other than putting on my own air filter on my V-3 on my Phantoms motors.

They have excellent low torque take off and will rapidly reach 50 MPH no problem with some throttle left over...I do not ride that fast myself since I like being able to cruise at around 30 to 35 MPH at usually no more than a quarter throttle at low RPMs and even get around 115 MPG because of its low rpms resulting in frugal fuel usage and this is on a bike that weighs between 80 to 100 pounds depending on what I am carrying plus my 217 pound lard arse sitting on it.

I am doing this in the High Deserts of New Mexico at 4500 foot elevation.

that is 1 sweet ride!!!! My max mph is 28 pinned to the max. Drives me crazy to have to rev that high just to do high 20s! You get all that performance from just the stock motor with air filter? I think im sold. what sprocket would you recommend?

i will almost feel bad putting that thing on a 1997 beat up diamondback MTB frame

I am running the 36 tooth sprocket, that is the only one you need with the Phantom motors but it is also so you can fit the mag wheels, disk brakes, etc...A tight fit but it all works beautifully.

Here is my "tutorial" on how I built it, where to get everything how much everything costs when you click on the links, etc. etc....lol.

I know you have the 1997 beat up diamondback MTB frame, but I'd like to see you use a nice steel frame bike frame for something like this Phantom motor which is like 5 to 6 HP right out of the box which is almost double the HP of any of the China Girls that you are used to so you need a strong steel frame bike.

This is why I use the Hyper Beach Cruiser frame...I ditched the wheels with the coaster brake etc. and replaced them with strong 3 spoke mags instead because Wally World bike rims/wheels will not stand up to a motor like this.

The Hyper frame has thicker tubing, is a little larger and longer than most big box store beach cruisers and it has much better welds than most of the bargain bikes out there right now.

Beach Cruisers, overall, are the easiest bike frames to motorise in the first place because these 2 cycle bike motors are all originally designed for the beach cruiser build.

I hope you bought it via bicycle-engines.com as they are the only official Phantom 85 vendors in the USA.
i actually used motoredlife because bicycle-engines were out of stock. After reading reviews for motoredlife, starting to get a bit worried. Still havent received tracking info..

it also says "Sold and Shipped by Bicycle-Engines.com" on the checkout page of motoredlife so i assumed they were some type of dealer
