Hey guys i just purchased the phantom 85 v4 directly from the supplier on Alibaba.com , it’s currently being shipped out to me. I think it’s the same thing as the menace 85 but without smoliks head. There’s an option to get it with the expansion chamber but I’m cheap so I didn’t get it.

Stay tuned guys I’ll let you know what it’s like when it arrives.

There is only one patent, trademark, and copyright holder of the Phantom 85 motor in the world and that is the guys who had the thing drawn up and made in the first place to THEIR specifications...That is bicycle-engines.com in Montana here in the USA.

There is also NO such thing as a V-4 version from the official source as of yet, ONLY V-3...All others are copies/fakes as you will unforturtunately find out on your own as the price of it is usually a clue as to what you might be getting as well.

The picture of the copy/fake you ordered from "Hu Flung Dung" in China doesn't even show the OZ reed valve or the windowed piston that is standard issue with a genuine Phantom motor series.

I own two of them myself and mine run perfectly...Pics of my motor and my bike in it's present form.

Looking forward to hearing how it goes.

Idk if it’s legit or not but for what it’s worth, the same seller sells the phantom 85 v3 as well, it’s got zt moto stamping on it and the phantom sticker.

There are several third parties that also sell the Phantom motor through Alibaba and the like.

I am half tempted to ditch my 4 stroke build in favor of another Phantom now that the V4 is finally out.
So this means we have been lied to by B-E.com who claim to hold the sole power of trademarks, copyrights, and patents on the Phantom 85's when they say right out that all others from other sources are NOT the real thing ???

If that's the case, why did Zane and others cave so fast when threatened with lawsuits to NOT call their motors Phantom's in any ways, means, shape, or form ???...They caved and changed their marketing and product names.

I never said anybody lied. I am just saying there are third parties that sell the same engine from the same source, all of whom are overseas. It's not like the Chinese give two craps about copyrights, patents, or trademarks in the international commerce world. They ARE the experts of copying and stealing.
