How can I drill a 1/4 hole in a 1.5 coaster brake hub? would a dremel work with a short bit? plan is drill and tap the hub adapter on the 2 post side and cut the bolt head so the smooth part fits in the hole.

You don't ask any easy questions, your best bet would be a die grinder with a drill bit in it.

If you have a remote for you Dremel that might work, but Dremels take pretty small bits.

You probably don't need a 1/4" hole, an 1/8 would work.
