Hello,

Plane and simple my pipe keeps falling off. I'm currently using a minarelli style mz65 pipe on my Frankenstein engine, but for some reason the bolts keep ejecting out bolt holes, causing it to fall off. I've tried thread locker on the bolts but that still won't help it unless I'm just using crappy thread locker. The pipe actually came off the bike spinning 10440 rpm. I got lucky and the engine cutoff and no harm was done to the engine, but this pipe issue is getting annoying.

My second problem, which came out of nowhere, is my chain locking up on my bike. I have no idea where its locking up because it only does it when I'm pedaling the bike and use the engine to move the bike. It won't do it when the engine is disconnected and I'm spinning the wheel by hand. This started when I added the chain tensioner that most people get with their kits onto my bike because the bottom on my chain is too loose. For a while it was working but then it started does the clunking garbage and eventually resulted in the bolts holding my sprocket and rear disc in to eject out and make everything loose and lead to one of the bolts bending (its been replaced and fixed). But I now took off the tensioner and the thing is still clunking. Thanks for any help. Ill post pictures probably tommorow.

Man this HAD to happen as soon as I got the bike to start running good :/

Use studs instead of bolts and also use a muffler strap so all the weight isn't hanging on the studs/bolts

Don't use a chain tensioner take all the slack out of the chain - Shorten the chain

The loose chain is making the links buckle and lock up

I can’t shorten it believe it or not. Its literally just too short to take out a link. And I can’t move the engine around because the pipe will hit the wheel.
Support the free end of the pipe to lessen the vibrations.
I have an extra support on the bottom of the pipe.

Maybe a chain stretcher would work?

This is almost like the front engine mount that i had made for my bike and should work perfectly for yours since i do not like the ubolt type front mount that comes with the motor kits.

Your pipe is an issue though since it is not mounted the correct way it is recommended to be on that bike.

This mount would allow you to move the motor up just the slight amount needed to allow you to pull that chain tight and get rid of the tensioner...You have seen pics of my bike and know that my motor is sitting a little higher than yours, it is because of the front motor mount that I can do that and that adjustability is what enabled me to have both chains custom length and just tight enough to work without tensioners and end of your chain problems.

Standard medium loctite melts at about 250F. That would be standard blue, aka 242 in Loctite terminology.

243 is a higher temp rated version of 242, and will melt at about 350F. Still not quite good enough for exhaust hardware.

Now, 2422 is rated to 650F, and will likely do the job you need. It's ceramic based and comes in a syringe. It's not exactly easy to find, or cheap at about $50 a pop, but on the plus side, that one syringe will last forever.

I think I’m going to try and add lock washers. Apparently that’s their purpose is to prevent bolts from backing out. If push comes to shove I’ll just get some heat resistant threadlocker.

I have always used lock washers on the exhaust bolts, I would have never thought to do otherwise.
I have never had an exhaust bolt or an intake bolt ever back out on me either...I do check on them periodically but it seems mine never need to be tightened.

Since the Hufferrari is a road bike, I have to use 2 chain tensioners - the stock death trap and a spring loaded one mounted to the clutch case - to prevent the chain from rubbing on either itself if too slack or the frame if too tight.
Might try that.
Auto stores have muffler straps to support exhaust pipes.
None of my bolts have ever just loosened themselves, but there's no way my 49cc engine could spin faster than maybe 600 rpm either.....
Maybe something's stripped ?
