Power loss and bad idle

I jusy tried a 70 jet. And it had bad top end. 72 was a touch better 75 and 78 feel the same but im trying to figure out the low end power. It had alot of low end before reed setup. I have been running 40:1 though from the start. Maybe the rings and cylinder are leaking and its burnt out? Should i get a new piston and cylinder and try without reed setup?

What you really need to do is get that ratio to no less oil that a 32:1 ratio...40:1 is not enough oil for a common run of the mill China Girl motor.

The next thing you need to do is to probably get rid of the G2 valve and use an OZ reed valve instead, You will probably see your problem miraculously solved.

Turning the air screw all the way in would make it rich. I said almost all the way in. So somewhere between 2 turns out and almost fully screwed is a good spot. No matter the spot of the needle the air screw or the pilot jet it idles like s**t and has terrible low end power

Here's some food for thought. 20mm is pretty big, especially fir a lightly modded engine. Not to mention it's the wrong style of carburetor. You should be running a boot type carburetor, not a flange type. That flange just adds more potential for leaks especially woth the weight of the carb pulling down without support

Screwed in leans the mix.

I assure you the carb is sealed and has no leaks. Like i said before it ran great with no reed setup. So how is the pilot too big now. Reeds need a richer setup? Dont they? As for the air screw? Turning is closes the air off, thus making it richer.

Turning it in closes off the fuel passage, not the air, thus making it leaner.
