I think the pictures answer the question. If I had a ride like that, I could cordon it off, and sell tickets for a peek. (Probably make the grand back pretty fast).

anything is only worth what someone will pay for it
the important questions are,
did you enjoy building it ?
do you enjoy riding it ?

if you answer yes,(which I suspect you do), it WAS worth it !!!

you created something unique, and nobody can take that away from you

:cool:for a ride as beautiful as yours, i'd DEFINITELY spend at least that much,if i had your talent. since i DON'T have the talent, i invest my time, effort, $$ and what little talent i have on my bike "pathfinders".(can't build it too outrageous like yours, lest the cops, bicyclists, walkers and joggers boot me off the bike paths.)

cool ride, man. i think it's easily worth your time and $$.

I figure my total outlay for my bike was about 240 dollars including the bike I bought on craigslist.Oh but add 50 bucks for my stem mount to my bmx handlebar.
My son thinks I should sell it for 500 so I can build two more one for him.
So you can buy a used vespa for a grand and get no looks or you can build a masterpiece like that chopper bike and get more looks(ok,maybe the same looks) as if you were driving a Diablo.
It's such a life changing fun thing to do that it's actually a bargain compared to what the same money would buy.
I'm seriously gonna look into a chopper project next go...next time I have a little cash to play with.

...and some specialised mountain bikes cost more than a grand...I'll take the chopper thank you.
