Problem with throttle cable

Just after putting new throttle cable on,do i really have to put tape on to keep it together or is there another way?

Turns up i had to tape up the metal arm to the cable housing

The connection of the cable to the carb is an area a lot of people miss.

Don't forget the rubber boot (or tape) where the cable goes into the carb, this can be a point of an air leak.
