I heard there is a lot of problems with the phantom 85 like ring clipping and stuff
Those problems were solved long ago, the V-3 is the one they have out that has all of those problems solved.
I have a V-2 and a V-3...On the V-2, I had to do some mild removal of imperfections that would cause imperfections, on the V-3 I had to do nothing since they are actually doing it at the factory level now.

ok I have 50 bucks saved would it be cheaper to buy a kit or just the pipe motor and carb
They are only available as a kit from bicycle-engines.com, the only GENUINE retailer of Phantom 85's.
