Pull Starts for 2 Stroke?

Bought a pull start online for either my 80cc or 48cc( Impulse Buy). Tried installing on the 48 and just about lit the damn thing on fire trying to get it on. Got it on, but took it off because it needed some modifications, just didn't have time. Are these pull starts any good or are they just another way to screw up my motor?

Why spend your money on one of those? If it has a centrifugal clutch I would get one... other than that don't get one. Instead, spend it on gas

Not entirely, they come in handy when your electric start battery is dead.
