Q-matic EZmotorbikes, Does anybody have any recent experience with them?

Does anyone have any recent experience with EZmotorbikes? The makers of the Q-matic. I've been wanting a new transmission for my hs142 and was hearing good things about the Q-matic from really old posts. I had seen people saying that they had shut down there business and no longer were selling the Q-matic, and I looked on they're website and it looked like it was really outdated and not operational. But I called the west coast number anyhow and talked to Mike for about a half hour and he was telling me that he's not good with computers anymore but I could still make an order by calling his partner on the east coast phone number. Mike seemed like a good guy, but I was just curious if anyone else has dealt with them in the last year or so?

I have one. When combined with an upgraded HS142F, the trans acts
almost like an automatic trans because it slips smoothly allowing power
to build. But I would definitely not recommend using it because it
requires a special engine without a clutch. Almost all of the motors
today come with a clutch. If you go that route you won't be able to
change out to a trans that uses a clutch equipped motor. That is
why EZM went belly up I believe. They work best with straight-shaft
79 cc 4 stroke Predator engine at Harbor Freight. I'd have to recommend
the Grubee 4G belt drive as the best trans for an HS142F.

I do have the hs142 with the ⅝ straight shaft. I was considering the 4g trans, but I'd have to change out the crankshaft to the tapered end type. That's why I'm actually really interested in the Q-matic. Mike told me that they do still sell them but I'd have to order through quentin. I just wasn't sure how reputable they were. I'm kinda leary about ordering something with my credit card over the phone to someone I don't know, you know.

power of the HS142F by about 15%. You can do it once you get
the Q-matic fit and mounted onto the bike, or you could make
the mods now, which would be easier with the engine off the
bike. I did it and it worked fine. I'd say you'll have one sweet
bike when you're all finished.
