Question: Shortening The Throttle Cable - Disassembly Of The Cable Components At The Throttle End (Short video contains the question and details)

Never had to take apart a throttle cable before. Their made to length from the factory
Maybe the factory molded that piece into the cable housing and the only way to take it off is to cut it off.

Hold the barrel end of the cable with a vice grip, take small hot torch and heat the cable right before the barrel, slide the barrel off, or just cut it off. After that you can slide the entire cable out of the sheath, shorten the sheath on the carb side while leaving that barrel intact on the cable. Once the sheath is the right length you'll have to slide the cable back through it then put on one of your fancy ends at the grip side in the right location. It sounds more complicated than it is lol.

I got it done. The main trouble I had was getting the old ferrule out of the inside of the long hex adjuster nut because the ends under the conical hood were pressed around it. It's all finished and back together.
