Can you install a slant head on a standard cylinder? Or am I just dreaming and it'll blow my motor to pieces?

 

Yes, you can. The combustion chamber was essentially copied in the angle plug version. It's just on the exterior that it appears different. They had to move fins and the boss(engineering term for a flat place, usually intended for machineing) for the angle plug but that's it.

Compression on a stock motors hover around 6:1 or so. It's when you get into the exotic moped heads you need to worry about the compression. I got a Puch moped head and it's combustion chamber is *much* smaller than the stock head. CR is up around 9:1 or better. There are some mopeds that have an 11:1 compression ratio. These heads have a compression release to make starting easier.
