Does anyone happen to know the length of the average throttle cable that comes in the kit?

If you're running a standard height set of handlebars, seems like, at least on the cheapy Amazon kit on my bike the throttle cable was more than generous. At least long enough to easily accommodate wider bars. If you're going for ape-hangers and a tall stem, then yeah they're going to be a little short. you're going to need an entire new set of clutch, brake, and throttle cables.

Just another reason why I prefer and encourage others to use a beach cruiser style bike, especially for those doing their first build and being inexperienced in being able to think out of the box in order to improvise things.

The beach cruiser is what they are really designed to fit OOTB...lol.

In their native country, these were predominately put on single speed, home market Flying Pigeon single speeds and they have fairly narrow bars but taller stems. It's one of the reasons why these engine kits fit so perfectly on old English and European 3 Speed roadsters. My old J.C. Higgins (made in Austria by Steyr..) bicycle was a perfect match for the tubing angles and diameters.

Basically a classic Raleigh or other Nottingham made roadster or upright tourer.

Most older Schwinns and other balloon tired 1950's derived bikes don't mate up well with these engines. The reason why they also make front custom engine mounts because the curved tubes on a cruiser don't always mate with the angle and diameter. Newer cruisers with the built in made for bike engine mounts do work well but yet those(.....walmart specials...) with larger than standard downtubes also don't mate well. I've seen some rough local bike engine installs, some guy was drilling the down tube to mount bike engines for people he was building these for. And saw one drilled downtube bike with an aluminum frame that failed while the bike was running at speed. Luckily the owner shut the engine and coasted to a stop and walked it home.

Drilling into these frames for motor mounting purposes is the kiss of death for these bike and engine combo's.

There are some countries in the world that have actually made this frame drilling illegal on bike frames for this purpose.

Yeah we have some real genius bike builders who should probably be stopped,. This frame came in with a bunch of other old bikes/parts at the local community bike shop, and we decided that we weren't going to help folks with an obvious gas engine conversions any more, just because of the potential lawsuits.

Here's my bike as reference for the way these engines fit older diamond frame bikes, I would also think certain MTB made in the early 1980's through to the early 1990's would be great candidates especially when they're made of CroMoly tubing.

Im not changing anything just replacing my old cable on my occ with a pwk carb on my wildcat pro.
My old one broke a few times and i wasn't exactly sure of the original length but ill just improvise

Get a shoe lace and trace the length from the handle bar to the carb. Then order the right cable.
