Throttle cable showed up while I was gone, got the unit finished and ran it in the lot. Do a 10 mile run tomorrow. The vibrations in the seat is interesting since I've been used to front wheel for so long.

very functional and will be available now!

I don't know. I like all the creative engineering but I don't think one
can buy a better FD unit than Stanton offers, combined with top
motors like the Honda GX50, GX 35, or the beast Zenoah G43L.
You're up against big time competition that has been on the
market for years. The GX50 is about the sweetest, quietest,
smoothest running engine that can be mounted on FD. I own
a Honda GX50 and I am always super impressed by its
performance, worth every extra penny I paid for it.

FYI, there are at least two companies that failed with good friction
drive units: ThatsDax, and Roadbug. The latter invented a method
of turning an FD into chain drive. With your engineering talent
you could try something really new like this, or attempt a two speed FD,
or engineer a rear FD that uses 1.5 inch roller or larger.
Stanton's largest roller is 1.34 inches. I think a solid rear unit with
a 1.5 inch dia. roller would have interest.

I was out riding my FD today, with the wind and hills around here it's a gas hog. Weather has been terrible, it poured last night and here is the result at the local park (this was a parking lot). I don't see many FD bikes around here when I'm out riding, but it's my go to bike when I want to take a quick buzz around on a gas bike, pull the recoil and you're off. Stanton engineered a very simple unit, it's robust, good materials, and a very low parts count.

Friction drive alone does not sell that well, moterized bikes as transportation are just not that popular for a number of reasons but also for local ordinances and state laws that factor in. Let alone the popularity of electric bicycles that just seem to go un noticed in these laws.

I am not out to make a million, or get so many orders that I cant fulfill them and have to quit my day job. I enjoy building custom pieces for those who are interested.

One by one.

This isn't a competition by any means. I just love what I do.

I don't see any MB's around my location, and I bike a lot, nor do I see as many scooters, or motorcycles like years back. I suspect the MB suppliers have a lot of other products they import, and the MB kits and parts, are a small percent of their sales.
