Really gotta get back on two wheels.

Forgot about the kpm200. Those rock! Supposedly lifan is one of the better chinese makes. I got to get a car that's not old enough to drink first but I'm split between a Yamaha TW200 and a CBR250R.
Lifan, CF Moto, and Zongsen are basically the Chinese "Big three" in motorcycles. They tend to have the better quality overall. They still sell cheap bikes too, but even their cheapest bikes are a step above the random generic no-name/small name stuff many places sell. That includes my Hawk, which is made by Haosen Hensim, a smaller time manufacturer with an ok reputation. They build solid bikes, but not always with the best materials, which is why they are less than 2 grand.

I would get a Lifan KP Mini myself. 150cc vertical engine and it can be easily swapped out for larger OHC or OHV engines like the one in my Hawk. Even with the 150cc engine it makes 4hp more than the Grom and has a 5 speed transmission. They also get up to about 75mph in stock form.

Venom has the SS3 model on sale for $2099 too.
Yeah, my only takeaway from the grom was the 4 speed.

The 4 speed is just a throw back to the original cub and CT 70/90 engines. It's what they had. The only way to get a 5 speed in a horizontal "Honda" engine is to get a Zongshen 190cc. 19hp and 5 speed trans.

If I were wanting a Grom, or a smaller bike like said Grom, the KPM200 would be my number one choice. Groms are just a glorified scooter that isn't a scooter.

The newer groms have a 5 speed. Still just for around town and goofin off.
Oh, nice. They listened to the people, or they realized the Chinese were making "Groms" with 5 speeds that were actually selling well lol. I would still rather have either Lifan bike simply because of the vertical engines and more horsepower.

For sure. For sure. At least in North America anything under 30 hp is anemic. Our roads are built for much higher speed and we have much less traffic. 70hp is no good if going over 40mph is suicide and city traffic is slower than walking.

Well be thankful that time is the limiting issue and not a health issue.
But...but...GW has...Anxiety.
Isn't that today's public health threat #1?

He has angst. He could have a cardiac infarction.
Or slap someone.

Me riding and not mowing the yard was a medical necessity I told my wife...after she mowed her half.
She has angst now.
I might get slapped 🤯

The cicadas are screaming in the city.
The river is angry.
Red skies at night.
And I rode today.
All is good.

The engine I'm jamming in my trail 90 has a 6 speed transmission. It's a Suzuki ts125 engine.

More Horsepower with the 2 Lifan bikes being 12.2hp and 17hp. Not exactly rocket ships
