Really starting to enjoy the bike!

No thx. I cancelled all my threads what do I gotta do not to hear from this
site again?

Really?

Does someone have to tell you how to NOT click on this site, or how put it on your BLOCKED SENDERS list, REALLY?

Back to the thread.

Now that the soapbox is gone, We can get back to the original topic.
I think the longest trip I take on my bike is to my girlfriends house and back, A round trip of aprox. 26 miles. A 13 mile trip is a long way for this old man. I usually stop for a smoke break about half way there. Then relax, have something to eat and just kick it for a couple hours before the trip back. If she decides that she REALLY, REALLY, "needs me" then I might have to spend the night just to recuperate before the trip back.
One consolation is that the streets in San Jose aren't too bad. A couple of rough spots, but on the whole it's fairly smooth bike lanes all the way. I haven't made the trip of late cause I didn't have a full size bike, But my new Cranbrook build is just itchin to make the trip.

Yeah Big Red,

That Cranbrook most be a pretty good bike. I've heard nothing but positive stuff about it. See, the longest I've gone is right at 20/miles round trip. Gosh, I am trying to work up confidence to run a 60 mile trip soon. Everything is good, but I just read so many bad situations that creap-up on these wonders, that I just really wimp out.............lol

I know though, that once you get these kits broken in, they really full ya. Uno, you'll never know untill you try!!!~ Its really got to be nothing but good to run these engines aways as long as your not holding at WOT!!!!!!!!!!~I don't care where they are made, it's better to run any engine some distance vs starting and stopping every few ft.

Mileage

Yeah geebt, The 2010-2011 Cranny was done with much stronger welds and came with 12 guage spokes. I don't know about the 2012 model.
If yer goin on a 60 mile round trip just make sure you have a REAL comfortable seat. Pack some basic tools and a warm jacket. if ya break down and it starts getting dark on ya it can get cold real quick.
I never go anywhere without making sure I have some kind of backup. I have friends with vans and pick-ups that can come rescue me if needed. And, Oh yeah, Don't forget your cell phone. I did that one time, It took forever to find someone to let me use their's.
Big Red.

So I let my bike rot in the garage since last year. Finally got her running again.. I forgot what i was missing. I forgot the simple joy in these engines and the feeling they bring. I hope to never drop out as I had last summer.

WTF, Did this thread just DIE or what. Just did a little trip with a MB buddy to Alviso and back. It's not really that far, just a little over 20 miles round trip from where I started. Not the longest trip on my bike, just the longest trip lately.
So C'mon bro's, Lets hear about yer experience on yer longest trip, or the longest one you've done lately.
Big Red.

Most of my recreational day rides are in excess of 70 miles trip range, though i've done 100 mile trips in the longer daylight hours of summer.
A few of them have been journeys that stretched over multiple days.

Fabian, I would bet you almost anything that you are a MUCH younger man than me. I think a 50 or 60 mile round trip would be my limit, Then I would have to rest for several days afterwards.

Big Red, you just need a Cane Creek (long travel) Thudbuster suspension seat post and a wide gel-packed cushioned seat. Some may say that a very wide seat is a ladies seat, but by golly, they are so, very comfortable and combined with a long travel suspension seat post it makes long journeys a walk in the park:

Here are some examples of properly designed seats:
