Rear wheel/rim keeps cracking

I have rim brakes on one of my bikes, that kept chewing up aluminum wheels, & I noticed in very small print on the brake pads, it said " Not for aluminum rims. If that helps anyone else out that is having this issue.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/372985237879 I use those on steel, and they are on my only set of AL rims. Very sticky, stop well when wet too.
