Rear wheel stuck & unsure what to check next

What would cause the rear wheel to lock up as a result of this? I would think the sprockets would just spin still since not connected. Guess doesn't really matter but curious.

I just sent Bicycle-engines an email explaining what we encountered along with a picture of the sprockets. We both have been really excited about using the motor on the bike; hopefully we'll be able to get something figured out.
The gears are likely binding on debris.

I received a response back from the vendor that they will be sending out a new clutch assembly. With the rear wheel not turning at all, do you think that would solve this issue?

Technically, yes, it rotates but takes a pretty good amount of force and not even close to as easy as it was in the past. I don't think just a new clutch assembly will do it.

Could be a bad crank bearing, have someone turn engine over with pliers watch drive gear for wobble. Drive gear didn’t look right to me from photos.

Does the bicycle wheel spin ok when there's no engine chain on it. Bent stock hub axles are common. All too often the stock axle needs to be replaced with a cro-molly axle.

I was wrong; it was actually purchased from Motored Life who does have an affiliation with Bicycle Engines. Both companies have been in communication with each other trying to help me. I have to say, both of their customer service has been absolutely fantastic.

Alex from Motored Life has been emailing me, then sent him video where he even provided his personal cell so I could send him video of what's happening. It's Sunday and tomorrow Labor Day. He was so willing to keep helping me but told him he should enjoy his weekend and holiday. He absolutely would have keep helping me sort though this. REALLY means a lot in the customer experience for me.

Agree, gear drive looks wrong. Will try that. Alex also asked me to do some tests related to that.

Wheel spins fine with no chain on it. Thought about that too to rule thing out.

You all have been so helpful. Don't think I would have made it this far into things without you. I keep learning more and more, which is worth the challenges in the end. Thank you!!
