Recommendation for High-Performance Carburetor and Reed Valve Kit Upgrade

Honestly, with the Phantom engine, I would leave well enough alone. You would be surprised just how powerful that little engine is out of the box. It's everything everybody wishes the normal 66 and 80cc 2 strokes are in terms of power. 45mph is achievable by pretty much everybody right out of the box with the super simple and easy to tune Bofeng carb. More importantly, it peaks it's torque very low in the RPM range, so it climbs hills and takes off from a stop better than pretty much everything else on the market.

Basically, install it and run it as is first. Get through the break-in period. Then, if you decide it's still not enough for you look into doing upgrades.

I like it just as it is, I hate to mess a good thing up. I’m not looking for 60 mph, just a good cruising speed.

That is if he still has it after the 310 mile breakin...lol...The German police have this bad habit of confiscating and crushing illegal vehicles in Germany...lol.

Then stick with a 36 tooth sprocket on a 26" wheel. That puts the Phantom in a very happy sweet spot in the RPM range. 30mph is at 5700rpm. Good low-ish RPM that keeps the heat down, right in the meat of the entire power curve - just beyond torque peak and right before the power peak.

My Phantom was geared a teeny bit taller, but close to the same. It LOVED to cruise along at 30-35mph.. Got the best fuel economy of any 2 stroke bike I have ever had too, average was 102mpg.

I am getting a solid 115 MPG with my lard butt on it but I think I get the better mileage only because your a larger wind sail than I am and probably weigh more as well...lol.

I had some old duffer call my bike a Whizzer yesterday after church...I had to correct him and tell him it was better and that I built it myself, not a factory built bike...lol...lol....Sorry Wrench...lol.
