The first time you get anything in the tank it will plug the tank spigot filter and your engine will lean out and die. If anything, remove the in tank plastic filter and use a big clear in-line filter so you can see the fuel and any dirt.
Carbs do not really need an especially fine filter, they need volume and flow. 100 microns is about 4 thou of an inch and is probably fine enough for our carbs. No orifice that small, no fine sliding surfaces that can jam, and even the needle needle valve will close on it. Holley used to sell a large 40 micron filter, but it was really overkill and marketing. EFI uses 10 micron and my diesel used huge 30 micron into 5 micron filters. Overkill for these carbs, giving up flow. A large clear inline filter between 40 to 100 micron will do.
