I run g2 reeds but I HATE their install procedure and the cage quality. I like oz but need to offset for my frames. I've seen these use reeds that look similar to oz. Just looking for suggestions. I like the g2s but it's time to try something else. Obv I've used an oz and like it. What do you guys run and why? Next question- chain maintenance recommendations. What your method and why?

Twice yearly since I ride all year round, Once in the Spring and again before Winter, I use WD-40, I pour enough of it into a small bucket like those small oblong 1/2 gallon plastic ice cream containers, and put the chain in the bucket and soak it overnight and just wipe it all down next morning...I then drop the chain into another bucket with 2 cycle synthetic oil and let it soak for the day, then wipe it down and put it back on the bike...It does a very decent job of things.

For the rest of the in between times, I just wipe it down with a garage rag whilst still on the bike and then just re-oil it with either more 2 cycle synthetic oil or a decent chainlube product such as BG Motorcycle chainlube and wiped off the excess oil...If someone has disk brakes on their bike, don't forget to spray some brake clean on the disks and pads and wipe them down as well so as to not have grease and oil soaked brakes.

Greatly appreciated excellent technique. I shall definitely adopt it. As you could imagine with this my primary transportation my chains take a beating. I stretch the crap out of them with power and while I always keep them lubed. They lack cleanliness. As result I think I experience premature wear. This will help alot just more like biweekly for me. Lol

You have the added problem with loose sand here and there in the roads coupled with high humidity as well as road salt and slush during the winter time...I only have the tumbleweeds, goat heads, sand and high heat, next to no humidity, no road salt, no slush.

Your chains take an extreme beating in Rochester or anywhere else along the seacoast communities of NH for that matter...You may want to do this maybe four times a year...lol.
 
I like to use heavy gear oil for my standard chains, and I use a cheap old counter top fryer to heat the oil. Also works with grease (heat required). I find the heating and cooling of the chain really helps the oil penetrate into the rollers.

Funny that you mentioned the heat...I only have to set my bucket and chain with the oil outside on my front porch...lol...It gets so hot, you can't even touch that chain until its been back indoors under the A/C for an hour or two...lol.
 
Go down to the hardware store and get a 3/4" brass street elbow. Boom, offset adapter for the OZ and BoFeng.

Yup. Some heat shrink for good measure.
You will need a piece of pipe to fit in the el, I had to mess around to make it work. The narrow end of the street el is a bit too large to fit in the carb.
