Replacing a cable is a common thing to do, I also replace the cable housing every couple years to keep it working smooth as possible

Thought I would show ya all the tool I made to crimp on the cable housing metal cap end
I prefer to crimp it on so it's just like a store bought cable,
The cap can be just slipped on with a friction fit and will be just as good,
But it can fall off and roll away beginning the "SEARCH" for the lost object :ROFLMAO:

I just drilled a hole the correct size in an old pair of wire strippers to use as a crimp tool
Of course I always crimp on a cable end so the cable don't unravel too

Nice little how-to hack Wrench. I bought the ratcheting crimpers with exchangeable jaws. This hack would have saved me at least $50, wish I would have found this thread earlier.

I've seen this post earlier somewhere, maybe was PM'd it idk. But lmao I've seen these same pics somewhere else. Lmao maybe even a different website. 🤣😂🤣 Maybe my clutch is slipping too!!!
Yeah, I posted this a couple times now, Usually when the subject comes up or ever two years, whatever comes first :ROFLMAO:

W, what's your technique when the cable is routed through the frame?

I don't have a bike like that, But If I did, I would try and duplicate what the manufacture did

Since the cable is routed thru the inside of the frame tubing, You would have to tie a string or wire onto the cable before removing it so you could thread another cable thru the frame

If the cable broke and a string can't be tied on, Compressed air will blow a thread thru the frame and out the other hole so a string or wire can be pulled back thru then a cable can be tied on and threaded thru the frame, or just try and fish a wire thru
