Safety Safety & Maintainence Tips from MB.c's Members

I've been in many accidents as I have nearly 100k miles riding bicycles. What I have learned is that bright headlights and a flashing tail light are most important. then a helmet. If your on the road a mirror is a tremendos help but dont rely on it entirely. be weary of loose pants. wear a reflectie vest. if you wear them, duct tape them. if you are going over 20 mph its a good idea to wear riding glasses. Check your brakes and cables on a regular basis. if you are riding in the winter do a brake check before riding. caliper brakes will freeze over and be useless untill they thaw. wet weather will wear pads many times faster than dry weather.
