Well, as you read in the title, I'm prototyping a new engine kit that I want to bring to the market.
The engine will be a CAG type motor (also known as a pocket bike motor) 49ccs 2 stroke, reed induction, with a 3:1 transmission, this possibly might change that to a normal clutch with a larger sprocket.
also hoping to offer a real expansion chamber for this thing (compared to a CG motor one)
the main reason for this choice is that you can place the motor high enough to bypass the need for a wide crank (in theory)
it'll include everything you need to bolt it on and the engine plate will be modular to fit as many bikes as humanly possible. Made from A36 and cold rolled steel, it will be the last thing to fail on it.
it won't use a normal rag joint, but instead, a CNC'd sprocket adapter with a #25 sprocket (still need to figure out what size ill offer, gotta test that out)
price, i haven't figured out yet, if i was going with a ballpark estimate, id say around 250$
I could also make a stripped down version if people would want that for cheaper.
worst case, if it totally fails, i got me a SWEET motorized bike.
Currently waiting on the steel company and for the rest of the parts to come in the mail!
but here's the exhaust being lower and rewelded.
