should i oil my motor for its first start up?

should i oil up the cylinder before starting the motor up? because i saw some guy on youtube saying that u needed to oil the engine before starting it but i saw multiple other vids saying nothing about that

I've never done that in 14 or 15 bikes.

I have never done this either myself and put literally thousands of miles on a couple of motors over the years and still have one of them on a shelf that has 6000 miles on it and still will run quite well...I rarely watch the youtube "how to" videos...The real experts like @Chainlube, @Street Ryderz, @Karl Snarl, @DieselTech, @Wrench, @Sidewinder Jerry, @ImpulseRocket89, and a host of others here on the forums are the ones to ask for good advice.

Just run it slow for a bit few minutes to get the oil splashed around
