Slight bogging

Never guess, I had one of my carbs delivered where the C clip was at the very bottom of the needle valve position making it full on rich.

I know I checked it, but I don't remember what it was. I left it and figured I'd change it if I needed.

What you describe is often the result of being just a tad lean or rich. I bet a single needle position shift would be sufficient to correct it.

How would I tell if it is lean or.rich without pulling the plug?

reading the plug has always been my go-to. That, or using other subtle clues from how the motor behaves or sounds in other throttle positions, or transitions.
Otherwise, you can make an adjustment to the needle. Go richer to be safe, and see how it responds.

I raised the needle a notch to richen the mixture, and it seems to have cleared it up. Thanks for the help.

So now you have placed the C clip one notch lower in order to raise the needle to make it richer???

Yes. It cleared up and even has more power off the line
