Small bevel gear stripped?

ive got and engine that came to me painted on the inside of the crankcase so i wanted to dissasemble it and get the paint out and put better bearings in it everything came out/off no problems except the small bevel gear is stripped out has anyone had to cut one off before is there some better way i can try to remove it without damaging the ccrank?

Heat it with a propane torch. You can use a chisel and hammer as well.

will butane get it hot enough?and no chisel but got the next bbest thingg a big ass flat head screwdriver

It might work. They have thread locker on them now. If you don't care about ruining the gear you coul cut a new slot with a grinder and cutoff wheel. That will also put heat into it.

i got the screw out no problem just the gear puller wont thread on ive ggotten most of the way thrroughh the gear with a dremel cutoff wheel cutting where the woodruff key is i figured its the thinnest part
