Hi peeps.
I just got into motorized bicycle last year and love them, but as with any good thing- u need more
More speed, more torque
I've been dreaming about the smolik minarelli hybrid kit. Pretty much a bolt on 70cc minarelli jug and every thing else u need to bolt it on.
I'm putting a vm20 carb on a dch power 3.4l gas frame. I was looking at the 50cc jog pipes on ebay for about $75, does any body have a opinion about that pipe on that cylinder? Is a 50cc jog pipe enough pipe?
I currently have a sick bike parts pipe my bike, but I don't think that's gonna cut it for this.
I'm making all the purchases today and just wanted to see if anyone has had this kinda configurations and what u would have done differently or any helpful info

Welcome to the forum!

the eBay jog pipe is good enough for a first-time build, since you are gonna have to hack into it to make it fit (since the header angle is for a Minarelli horizontal, not vertical, and it's on a bicycle frame) it will still perform 100X better than a typical CG kit.

Really, a good pipe would be a Yasuni C10/C16, but that cost 4X as much and a higher probability of screwing it up (and i don't think you'd like having to waste 500$ on pipes lol)

No, I've learned a lot this last year, but I'm still learning and I wouldn't feel comfortable hacking up a $500 pipe

Those vm20 carbs on ebay are like $35 compared to a real mikuni vm20 being around $100.
U think the real one is worth the extra for this build?

Those clones are actually closer to 15mm inside diameter, since the round slide portion is super small compared to the real deal.

Depends on your budget, if ya get afford it, yes, yes it is.

K, thanks for the info
I'm gonna sping for the genuine mikuni.
I'm gonna upload pics as I build to get some input.
The worse part is waiting for parts

Im going to be building one next year. So i will be following this. Where did you get your kit? I was going to make the space etc, but thought it would be better to buy it from someone who is a MB parts vendor. Help support the community a little. More they make, more r and d they can afford, etc.

For a site called
https://smolikperformance.com/
The kit has everything u need in it.
Spacer, intake adapter, reed valve, cylinder, piston and a cheap head.
All u need is a 20mm carb, pipe and your done
$265
It's pretty much a bolt on kit.
They recommend a vm20 carb and a yamaha jog pipe. About a nother $140.
I'm buying a yd100 bottom for it because I have my motor dialed in right now and don't want to break it apart, but u can use any 40mm or 38mm stroke bottom.
I'll keep this thread updated and let u know the final result and if it was worth it

The YD 100 head bolt spacing is different than the 66/80cc engine.
