Smolik performance head four stroking

So my bike was running perfectly with a 68 size jet with the stock head and a zdx65 exhaust but I just got the smolik performance head and it's four stroking pretty badly, would changing the jet fix this? I was worried about the piston hitting the head so I used it with the metal gasket, should I also take off the metal gasket? Thanks.

Your squish gap could have opened up a bit, compare it to the old head

4 stroking is a jetting issue. Putting a real head on the engine changes how the combustion works. Tighter squish, proper squish, higher compression. As with any mods you need to rejet the carb..4 stroking is a rich condition. Jet down till it stops.

I didn't deny that, but he himself hasn't been on since he posted. My answer was addressing his concerns on the piston contacting the head, which is a mich more pressing issue than his engine running a little roich.

He was running the metal head gasket which is fine to run with the SP head as well as the Oring the head came with.. But yeah I see he hasn't posted anymore. Thanks.
