So if the a85 is just a p85 without the overheating issues why is so many people still buying p85? Correct me if i am wrong a85 mods should be the same as p85 like using a pz19 carb, ms460 piston, cnc head (if you trust the smoliks) and the usual portwork and retarding the timing and balancing crank?

So most p85 (specific) mods wont work on the a-85 or have little effect?
And then there is the exhaust...it is a totally different exhaust on the A-85 and they also will not interchange.

The A-85 is known for bad problems that have not been corrected at the factory level whereas the P-85 has been improved over the last 4 years of production with the V-3 version that came out a year ago.

I own a V-2 and a V-3 Phantom and I love the both of them...lol.

Here is the bike I have them on as I have one as a spare motor and can just switch them out back and forth if I need to.

I am currently working on building an avenger into an engine that is actually worthwhile. I have some parts that will be in tomorrow. It isn't easy work.

The known issues of the avenger are...
-Porous castings causing a lean condition that is not repairable

-ring gap in the center of the intake port causing ring snag issues

-the wrist pin bearing is too thin and will blow under load/rpm

-poor crank shaft seals

-muffler rivets coming out and causing the muffler to fall apart
