So why does my motorized bike idle fine but then accelerating it needs choked to gain speed. When trying to get to half to full throttle it lags

So my 100cc build with a windowed piston the third port in the cylinder and a dio reed with a pwk 23 mm carburetor will start fine and idle great but when accelerating I need to put the choke on to gain speed and after taking the choke off it will run fine but at low speed it wants to cut out

It's running lean, so maybe a bigger main jet. Do you have any pictures of your set up? One inside the throat of the carb too.

Be careful running it lean for too long, you can burn a hole through your piston.

Lean! No bueno! Don't run it that way. Fatten it up immediately, lean=hot/potential pre ignition/burnt piston/burn everything/cylinder wash.... u name it. Wanna blow up ur bike super fast? Run it like that.

Not to mention it won't get the proper amount of oil in the premix

I had a similar problem with my 100cc engine and it ended being a vacuum leak, I was getting to much air.. it maybe a different issue for you though I am still a little new at this.

Did this on my first and second build. Buy Hondabond gasket sealer, clean all mating surfaces and then carefully reattach, after putting a thin coat on either side of the new intake gasket. You could also have a bad intake tube. My first intake tube leaked and had to be replaced. My dollars worth-Gearhead437
