SoCal Motor Bicycle Racing Sat Oct 22nd 2011 Grange Racetrack

160' straight aways. Veledrome could be pretty cool.

But I think Grange will be my cup of tea. A little bit of up and down. Tight turns following some wide fast sweepers, an invitation to corner too hot. Advantage ME! Hope cool hand Luke (LFP) makes it. I've got an ongoing dare for him to lap me and I'm making that harder for him every race.

Can't wait to see some really fast builds. The speed of mine is starting to scare me. My 14ga spokes are at their torque limits. May have to rig up with a 25cc Robin.

I'm going to race my butt off!

Will

After talking with Shane aka agk of Affordable Go Karts yesterday
I have moved all the Harbor Freight 6.5 hp motors into the 11 hp class.
I doubt if anyone would run one stock and just putting on a free flowing
AGK exhaust and air filter will get you going about 46 mph.

www.AffordableGoKarts.com is sponsoring the race again with
some cool prizes for the 4 strokes.

Affordable Go Karts makes hop up parts for the 50cc Honda and Huasheng motors

They also sell all the parts to make your Harbor Freight 200 cc go fast too.

Shane will probably not be riding his bikes again this race due to still recovering
from his knee surgery but his son and that very fast guy Bryan who lapped
#0 Alex on a 9 hp Morini last race will be.

Here are the 5 Motor Race Classes + Unlimited Class.
This is also the race order with eBikes first.

All entries must have functioning pedals.

1) eBike:
generally <9K peak input, 8.1K output almost 11 electric hp
dual motors sum <9K
Turnigy's, Colossus, Astros, others,
<9K input for hubbies C9s, 53XXs, Stoke Monkey, BMC, others

No real motorcycle tires allowed. Bicycle tires only.

2) 4 Stroke:
Robin Subaru 25cc and Honda GX 25 cc
Robin Subaru 35cc and Honda GX 35 cc
Honda 49 cc GXH and Huasheng 49 cc clone Titan 49.4 cc Super Titan 49.4 cc
Any other 4 strokes less than 50 cc

The <35 cc 4 strokes will be a 4 stroke subclass with their own winner.

No limits on motor modifications, Shifter kits are ok,
No real motorcycle tires allowed. Bicycle tires only.

3) 2 Stroke:
48 cc to 66 cc aka 80 Chinese bicycle motors.

2 groups run because of large number of entries.

No limits on motor modifications, Shifter kits are ok,
No real motorcycle tires allowed. Bicycle tires only.

4) >50cc Mid Range Class:
Harbor Freight 79 cc Greyhound
Harbor Freight 99 cc Predator
Honda GX 100
Honda GX 160
Whizzer 136cc
Pit Bike Cag 4+ hp 2 stroke
GP 460 47cc 4.5 hp 2 stroke
Briggs & Stratton 5 hp
Morini 5.8 hp 2 stroke

5) Gas Bikes <11 hp:
9 hp Morini
11 hp water cooled Morini
Harbor Freight 6.5 hp or similar

No real motorcycle tires allowed. Bicycle tires only.

The first 5 to 7 finishers from the above 5 Classes will race
against each other in The Ultimate Race.

UNLIMITED Gas OR eBike Class
Includes any motorized bicycles that are over 12 hp and don't
fit in any the other classes but meet a few basic common
sense rules
like functioning pedals and still resemble bicycles.

Multi speed shiftable motorcycle engines are in this class.
Motorcycle tires are in this class.

Exceptions may be made to the above classes at the race
organizers discretion [That's me] and the list will be updated as needed.

Racer's feedback is welcomed to define these classes more.

you must tune for it or you'll burn lean or worse

Applications for riders are open...I plan on sending one two stroke bike...
and one four stroke bike to the event.

Hi Jim
I have been working on getting you a rider for your Manic Mechanic
2 stroke 66 cc bike. Got a few good prospects that will give the #1
plate holder magrider a run for the win in the 2 stroke class.

The 4 stroke bike would be a Manic Mechanic show bike and not a
track race bike.

Of course the Manic Mechanic 2 stroke 66 cc race bike will have the
new Gen II billet high compression head and a few new MM parts.

Going to be a couple of radar guns at the race and we will be drag
racing down the long finish straight on Oct 22nd.

As a bipolar with a wrench set I hope to make a run for magrider never rule out home grown technical know how and 40hr. days fallowed by soul crushing despair and panic-see you in the pits

Hi Jay
Good talking to you today about driving Manic Mechanic's 2 stroke race bike to CA from FL.

The event is called SoCal Motor Bicycle Racing and is the second event of a new Motor Sport.
The plan is to have at least 4 races and events a year in Southern California.

I have not checked the track out at Grange yet in person. There is a definite possibility of
using the Supermoto dirt section at this race or at the next race in April or May.

This Oct 22nd race the special feature will be 1/8 mile drag races clockwise down the 950' straight.

There will also be a couple of radar guns to check speeds at the track.

driving the 2 stroke MM from FL. to CA. as in riding it or like in the back of a truck? if you're 2 wheeling it I'm impressed with your building skills!!! ether way I would like to see the MM 2 stroke run the track

That's funny Dave....actually one of the Florida eBike guys wants to drive
his van with a race eBike all the way to the Grange race.
He races Harley's on GP race tracks and is one of a few choices to
ride Manic Mechanic's 2 stroker at Grange.

The only view you are getting of MM's bike on the track is the back
of it except for a brief glimpse when you get lapped! :devilish:

The MM 2 stroke is going to have a balanced high compression motor
that will turn 10,000 rpm.

So you're bring in a ringer and I'm getting LAPPED-LAPPED? as in 8/10 of a mile ahead of little ol me not 7/10 of a mile but more then 20% of the race ahead ok then I guess the proof is in the pudding as you know I don't have to win but I refuse to get my butt kicked-I'm only $400 or so into this build and I am not getting LAPPED dude no no not going to happen no how no way!
I just wont have it my cdi is coming along my pipe is fair my reeds work vary good I have a high compression Suzuki FA head and my motor and I are completely UNBALANCED!! LAPPED AS IF
P.S.thank you again for putting this event on lots of fun
