I Hooked up with this 99 Specialized Hardrock California Chrome Design a week ago and had to put the 70cc Tiger Brand behind it. A friend I did a Black Eagle for asked me if he could upgrade so I went on down south. while I was down there a Fellow called me and asked If I had any bikes and so I met up with him too. So I came back to the 43 Messinger and a new Box on the doorstep. Ah another 70cc Tiger. These are like gold once they know you gott'em.

A fine looking piece of machinery.

In the early days of mountain bikes (about 1983 or so) I had a Miyata that was quite a nice bike. A friend had a Specialized Stumpjumper "Sport". I came to think of that as even nicer than mine, for about a hundred bucks less.

I think the Hardrock is descended from that Sport. I suppose there's also been some changes, though.

A fine, fine bike in any case. And with a happy time engine? Nothing could be better.

This is a sport Model. It says it on the frame. Oh thank you.
