Running a knock off speed carburetor purchase from Amazon on the 49cc huashen.
Starts and runs ok with stock settings, needle with clip in the center for the idle.
Pass 3/4- full throttle its kinda boggy ( not enough gas or too much? ) Hopefully I can get it to run a bit better.
Question: do I need to go bigger or smaller on the main jet to get it to not be so boggy pass 3/4 throttle?

Do a full throttle plug chop. That will tell you what way you need to go on jetting. I'm running a SHA15.15 carb with a 73main jet in my huasheng 142f with a 7/8 stainless steel straight pipe.

If a 4t bogs at or near WOT, it's getting too much fuel. Before you get a smaller jet try moving the clip up on your metering needle.
Moved the idle needle around and found runs beast in the middle position. That being said still heavily Bogs half throttle the full throttle? Thinking may need to reject the main?
And this will probably all change when I install and new pipe on it, I’m sure…
Thoughts about smaller main jet??

Change your pipe first, then rethink the jet.

New pipe on and still Boggs all through the twist of the throttle?
I believe it’s getting to much gas?
Not even to sure if I can put a new jet in this cheep carburetor,
Not a normal jet…. And no size to go off. Anyone have any input??
Pics of the jet in this knock off speed carburetor.

Do I invest in a beater carburetor that I can change and tweak jets with? If so suggestions?

That jet is replaceable, it's just a hex style jet, you need to pull jet out to measure the threads to find out what thread size they are. The stand pipe is separate from the jet. It will take 2 wrenches to remove it.

You can get a set of tip cleaning files, they're all gauged. Just put the tip in and check which one fits the best.

Are they shipped with a 70?
