springer fork brakes

what is the cheapest way to put brakes on a 26" springer front end?

Just the regular side pulls "bull dog" brakes for a few bucks.

The bottom of my springers has a hole for the bolt to go through. It can be tricky getting the assembly between the bars on the forks, but it can be done. I now have drum brakes, but that's not the cheapest way to go.
