The Naughty Carburetor: A Play in One Act
#46 gently glides downward from #25's orifice. The fuel gushing downward through #25 causes #48 to to rise, nudging at #46's bottom, thrusting its tip up against the seat of #25. Thus sealing the passage against the flow of fuel until the fuel in #50 is sucked upwards through #47 and #45 into #32. Then #48 sinks downward causing #46 to gently glide downward ...repeat
cast:
#46 Needle
#25 Fuel Inlet Tube
#48 Float
#50 Bowl
#47 Venturi Tube
#45 Jet
#32 Intake

Think of it as a tiny toilet bowl . when you flush (open the throdel) the float alows more water (fuel) in to replace whats been used. The purpose of the float mechanisem is to keep the toilet from overflow (flooding)It only lets in whats needed as its used up. The toiled is remarkably similar to the carb except that the carb is variable speed and the toilet is all at once. This could be under the heading of "strange but true" Tom in WV
