I need about a foot of 1" tube... ideally exhaust "thickness" vs 1" steel pipe thickness...

Where is a good place to source such a thing? Will the local Home Depot have something like that? Would I be better off going to an auto parts store (doubtful)?

Maybe the local True Value hardware store??

...all local exhaust shops carry 1.5" as their smallest size.

:(

I need 1" diameter... or as close to it as I can get... and 1.5" is a little too large.

Go to home depot or wherever & get some edm steel conduit, its plenty thick enough for exhaust pipe. I use it all the time. They make it in all different sizes to.

Yeah I bought a 2-20ft sticks of polished 1" stainless steel seamless tubing the other day & about had a heart attack when I got the bill.
I think I paid 30 for 2 five footers the last time I bought some. I don't buy polished because I'm going to weld it up anyway.
