I am probabally going to need the stopping power of a rear disc brake, when mounting a rear disc which side is preffered left or right? I will have a drive sprocket on the left and gear cluster on right.

Rear brakes are not very effective on most tadpole trikes. Greenspeed does not even recommend them except as parking brakes. This is from my greenspeed trike plans. Under hard braking the rear wheel can leave the ground.

Elmo, you are quite correct. From a force vector analysis of both accelerative and decelerative phases of riding, it is very clear that the great majority of braking forces need to be to the front wheels, and those forces need to be carefully balanced. So, paired disc brakes on the front wheels is the way to go.
