tanaka pf 4000 clone

No such luck. There are no "real" quality Japanese clone engines out there, they all are cheap knockoffs.Take the Mitsubishi TLE43 clone on Staton, it takes a fuel/oil ratio of 25:1, Japanese engines take 50:1.There is a guy on ebay that sells a Mitsubishi TU43 as part of a weedwacker that can be had for a reasonable price.Better to get a used quality engine than a crap new copy, that may or may not work.If you decide to go cheap, find the appropriate genuine Walbro replacement carb for your clone, and you'll be a bit better off.

my ubiquitous sources, well informed as always, tell me that TANAKA makes a clone :) hundreds of em! every stinking day of the week! except sunday. apparently they stay home then :(

seriously....

its already a cheap engine...who is going to clone a cheap engine?
