Tension Roller Tweaks

Tensoner on pedal side

Hey, I thought of something. Why don't you use a tensoner off of a old gear bike. Like a Ten speed.

Many years ago I bought a chain tensioner for my motorcycle from J.C. Whitney. It was spring loaded, it really worked good. I just tried to look for it on JCW, it seems like they no longer carry it. :(
I think that it would work on the bicycle with no problem.

Heath, you are correct. The ghost ring pops into place and rides right there. Heres another that I did on the pedal side on the MotoRat...Kelly

That would work too, and would have less rolling resistance than the standard tentioner, because they are ball bearing equipped.

that is really neat - kelly you have teh skillz...

Thanks for the compliment but I can't take credit for the idea, I learned about the ghost ring from Sheldon Browns website. I read several moto bike forums and I have not heard of anyone else doing this with an engine so I may be the first trying it with a motor...Kelly
