Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul , Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the 2008 Presidential election:
    Number of States won
    by: Democrats: 19 Republicans: 29
    Square miles of land won
    by: Democrats: 580,000 Republicans: 2,427,000
    Population of counties won
by: Democrats: 127 million Republicans: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won
    by: Democrats: 13.2 Republicans: 2.1
Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Republicans won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country. Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..."

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders (called "illegals") and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

The USA is already dead. The disease started under Franklin Roosevelt, but the country had a robust enough immune system to (mostly) keep it in check. Then Lyndon Johnson gutted our most important institutions and created a sweeping acceleration of the disease, followed by Richard Nixon and the irreparable harm he wreaked upon our national confidence in the validity of government as an honorable system. Ronald Reagan espoused a failed and false economic model, and spent money like he was washing the driveway with a garden hose which drew upon a reservoir to small to sustain the flow - by the end of his presidency the stage was set for the disease to go systemic, and through the '90's it did just that.

Then George W. took us into a fulminating, explosive terminal phase in the service of his "War On Terror". If Reagan spent money like a garden hose, Bush spent it like a broken 6 inch high pressure water main. Our current president inherited that failed system, and hasn't the balls to speak plainly and demand the surgery that might, barely, have saved the patient.

It's too late now, the death throes have begun, and the disease will rot the corpse.

The disease? Lack of confidence in and support of the NATION in favor of divisive party politics and special interests.

Your vote should count proportionally to the amount of taxes you pay. If you don't pay any taxes, why the **** do you get to say how the money is spent?!?

or proportionally to the amount of taxes you pay v. the amount of money you make percentage wise. the higher the percent, the more your vote should count. Hard hitting subject for me as I am constantly "borrowing" money from my bank at an extremely high fee just too keep my children fed. But before taxes I make too much to be eligible for any gov't benefits. bull****! I could quit my job, sit on my A$$ and have you guys pay for my existence, but I was raised with a little dignity.....

Strangely, I am hopeful that America can recover and "outlive" this parasite that infects her. And what would be the reason for kerfs optimism, The Fascist Obama and his Marxist friends in Congress. For the most part, the U.S. is not a Communist nation, we value personal independence and freedom but when the change comes slow, we adapt rather than react. The old frog in a pan of cold water scenario. What The Fascist Obama and his minions from he ll have done is to shift this gradual slide toward Socialism into hyper drive and many complacent Americans suddenly feel uncomfortable.

Life here has been so good that complacency has become synonymous with America. We pay scant attention to our elected officials, to their corruption, their usurpation of power, their contempt for the American voter, the list is endless. There comes a time when a change is necessary, a government makeover so to speak, time to throw the bums out. And lets not forget the media, those that are supposed to the the watchdogs of the Republic, dam fine job they've been doing. High time some media executives got a employment opportunity as well.

What's to get upset about, two little girls with a lack of parental guidance? Sure, I'm glad they're not mine but then if they were mine they would never have done it in the first place. Is it a train wreck waiting to happen, maybe but they and their family will live with it, not me.

yeah hip-hop gone south real fast... It didn't used to be like this. Old school icons like 2Pac and Grand Master Flash used to use rap a legitimate media to portray how bad life had gotten in the ghetto. Now it has has just become garbage... but so has the rest of the music industry. My biggest problem is that this current generation of rappers think they are actually making music and have talent. Time will deal with them appropriately with the rest of the one-hit wonders.

    3-6 mafia sucks anyways.

Well the sh8t is rolling over the border. This was in our local paper. Kind of a, what is going on down there.

When we sit up here, we looked over the border with a little bit of awe. Now thats turned to fear. Of the U.S.? No of the out of control Homeland Security Knobs and thier paranoid plans.

The New York Times has reported that the 3ft high by 21ft glossy bright yellow sign on the side of the Massena N.Y. border crossing building has been removed.

Are you ready for this. It was a "security risk". Probably fron the Canadian Terrorists the dim ***** in charge of the dog and pony show keeps seeing.
It was a HUGE target they said. How ever you can rest a little easier because they still plan to fly the United States Flag. Anyone ever see a protester in another country burn a 3ft x21ft glossy bright yellow sign?

They are messing with the 1.6 billion a day trade that passes over the border every day. The worst part is 85% of it is going your way so you folks are paying for that.
Since Canada is the biggest supplier of oil, natural gas and electricity to the U.S. the terrorists don't need to bother with the border. They just have to attack the pipelines ect. and you freeze in the dark as your gas prices go wild.

Check out . It's from the U.S. and Canadian Chambers of Commerce.

One last bit I missed.U.S. Atttorney-General Eric Holder said he is increasingly worried about home grown terrorism,"this whole notion of radicalization of Americans".

Really? Of the World Trade Center bombers 19 had U.S. Immigration papers. We all know that the Saudis are our friends.

I feel your on the right track but I agree to disagree.

I don't feel votes should be proportional because by doing so, the rich would have more say. Having said this, I don't think it's right for the poor to have more say either. Remember they had the black vote count as a third and the fiasco counting?

I think the fairest way to do it would be one simple question. Did you recieve any kind of Social assistance inorder to run your household?

If you did, then the reply from the election board should be equally simple. Keep your mouth shut and be happy you have recieved what you have, when you return to work, you will then have a say in how we spend tax money!

now... before Simon posts a page response on how we are all constitutionally guaranteed the right to vote and; I am wrong in so many ways that it reveals infinitely more about me than my post. It was half spoken as a joke...

Vtec did you read my post above? Look at and see how many jobs"mayby yours" depends on N.A.F.T.A.

Your theory is great only if the Government can guarentee you a job.

well... he may have been violent and ruthless but he was very intelligent and expressed his views in an artistic way that brought direct attention to the problems that affected where he grew up. This is a vast difference between what 2pac wrote like "dear mama"... and 3-6 mafia "slob on my knob". Sorry it is the truth.
