Hello to the club, yesterday I modified the piston (cutting out the window) and the good one does not want to start the engine. Couldn't it be because I don't use reed valves? I thought of turning the side of the piston with the windows towards the exhaust pipe, is that a good idea? Thanks for the reply, greetings from the Czech Republic

You are probably better off just getting a new piston. You can't just turn the one you have around, the ring gap has to be on the intake side.

just get a reed valve. You seem to have access to some tools, find one off something else and make adaptors. Then you can use tht piston. You don't have to buy everything, that's the beauty of these engines. Simple enough to adapt things too and make some parts for.
