My 2001 Pacemaker

Here is my 2001. Ride it to work every day! Advanced the timing one tooth as sugested (thanx guy's) and other than that all I have done is some cosmitic stuff. It runs great and I am usually not in a hurry so 28 mph cruising is just fine. Great idea to start this thread, Thanx.:giggle:

Terry's Toy,

A Whizzer with two modified motors. Terry's Toy [named in honor of Terry McAllister] was built by Ron Dow in Texas for Terry McAllister. Terry & Audrey McAllister not only gave me the double powered Whizzer, but made a special trip from IL to NC to deliver it late last year.

I modifed both motors for maximum RPM and after a few short rides, determined the frame needs to be stiffer for higher speeds.

Each motor generates 160 pounds of compression, while using stock bore & stroke. The fuel is fed via two 26 MM carburetors running 130 main jets. The heads are the rare early NE versions with serious flow, and sport a 24 cc combustion chamber. The intake ports are tapered 1.5 degrees and allow the motors to exceed 6800 RPMs under load. Cams are from Precision Cams in NC.

Someday it may make it to the Bonneville Salt Flats.

Terry on the left, myself on the right at my place in NC.

Have fun,

Hi Snake Bite,

The picture on the left in your post is owned by a friend of mine, Roger Brophy. He currently holds the record at Bonneville for a vintage double Whizzer powered bike. There are several versions of Whizzers with more than one motor and several versions with motors with twin cylinders.

Roger's bike has the motors in-line, same as mine, and both use a timing belt to connect both motors. The front motor on both bikes are 7 degrees advanced ahead of the rear motors. Both double motor Whizzers use rear chain drive. Another version is owned by Kenny Thomas in KY and has the motors side by side and he also uses rear chain drive with a 3 speed Albion transmission.

Both Roger and Kenny use vintage motors, whereas Terry's Toy is powered by 2 new edition Whizzer motors. The twin cylinder [there are two of them] Whizzer, current location unknown, were both built by Ron Dow and at one point Terry McAllister had either one or both of them. After Terry passed away last year, most of his collection was sold at Portland, IN 2010 and just don't know where the twin powered bike ended up.

Roger's bike is named "Double Vision", Kenny's bike is named "Double Whiz", and I named mine "Terry's Toy", but I don't know if any name were assigned to the twin cylinder powered bikes.

I have included several photos of the various versions. Terry's Toy is by far the fastest of the group, and has already exceeded 80 MPH on a GPS.

2 pictures on the left are Kenny's bike, center is Terry McAllister/unknown/Roger Brophy, 2 on the right are the twin cylinder version.

Have fun,
